No Recurrence of Cancer in Bobby Murcer's Clubhouse

It's been a week since we reported about Bobby Murcer's latest health scare. Let's check in to see how it all turned out:

Bobby Murcer, the former Yankee and current YES announcer, learned yesterday morning that a recent MRI image that had concerned doctors turned out to be scar tissue, not a recurrence of cancer.

"We received great news this morning," he said in a statement issued by YES. "The biopsy revealed scar tissue. It showed no signs of cancer. We are very excited about this news. It's what we had hoped for all along."
Murcer hopes to be ready for broadcasting duties on Opening Day at the end of the month. This recent scare strikes us more as a balk than a free pass.
