The man who set the stage that eventually made it possible for everybody to get in the car and ride to the liquor store around the corner died this Saturday.

"Cachao is our musical father. He is revered by all who have come in contact with him and his music," (Andy Garcia, who made a 1993 documentary about the bassist's career) said in a statement Saturday. "Maestro ... you have been my teacher, and you took me in like a son. So I will continue to rejoice with your music and carry our traditions wherever I go, in your honor."
His death also leaves behind Bam Margera, Marcus "KaPow" Blamjer, Stick Zlott-nick and Graham "Zap" Gooch as the sole living human beings with active Batman verbs contained in their name.
Lopez will be missed and he leaves behind a little bit of Monica- from his life, a little bit of Erica- by his side, a little bit of Rita- all he needed, a little bit of Tina- what he saw, a little bit of Sandra- in the sun, a little bit of Mary- all night long, a little bit of Jessica- here he was.
