Randy Pausch Turns His Doctors Into Liars

But in a good way. His doctors told him six months ago that he had three months of "good health" left, due to pancreatic cancer.

But this past weekend, Mr. Pausch, a professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon University and co-founder of its Entertainment Technology Center, sent an e-mail message to friends and family members saying that he is beating the odds and remains in relatively good health.
If you're wondering why that name sounds vaguely familiar...
Mr. Pausch became an unexpected celebrity after he gave an inspirational “last lecture” at the university that hundreds of thousands of people have watched online.

Randy Pausch! You go, Boy!
So many, many Christians have lifted YOU up, by name,to our precious Savior, Jesus!
Read what the Bible says about healing...it is ALWAYS God's will to heal and deliver all sickness and injury. There are many of us out here who have never seen you or know you but God has put you on our hearts to PRAY!
I FULLY believe that you will be fully healed and that you will live, Randy Pausch, to see your grandchildren. All of them!
God BLESS you!

You Christian zealots disgust me. "It is ALWAYS God's will to heal and deliver all sickness and injury." Then every death from disease is God's will? Every good person who dies is intentional purposeful? And every evil person who survives is part of God's plan?

God doesn't cure people, doctors do. A good being wouldn't let so many innocent people die. No, it's not "part of God's plan." unless his plan is to cause us all pain and suffering. If that's his plan, God must be pretty evil, huh?

And don't bother praying for my soul. I'm the one that paying for all of you misguided, corrupt, brainwashed zealots.

To the previous comment...

Why do you judge or throw your opinions on people?

If they are dying and wish to believe that there is greater being than so be it.

This blog is about Randy not you.

Randy - best of luck to you and your family.

Also, to the previous comment. . .

Randy Pausch's story is one that I have found to be greatly inspiring.

I have lived long enough to know great love, joy, blessings and loss. In coming to terms with the latter, I have decided that there are worse things than dying which may sound strange, but to live without Faith, Hope, Love and, yes, sorrow, loss and grief would be not living at all.

For Randy and family: You have been an inspiration for me and my two children, ages 21 and 18. An excellent age to hear what you had to say. Thank you for sharing your insights with us all. Not a day passes that I don't think of some aspect of your lecture and apply it to my life that day.
Our prayers are with you and your family. God has given you so much Randy. May He continue to bless you and yours with good days, love and time. We will be praying for you all.

Hi Randy! I received your book as a gift and I thought it would probably be corny and self-helpish (is that a word?!). I loved it and it's not corny at all! I wish you and your beautiful family all the best and it looks like you're really beating the odds! Good work buddy! You are someone that most people would love to be friends with. (I know you're not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition, but I do it anyway).

Randy,
I have just finished, for the second time, watching your appearance on the Oprah show. Your comment about preparing your family by "sewing nets" was a very wise, loving and thoughtful action, not to mention selfless. I also live with the cancer disagnosis and know your desire to make it easier on your family. I love hobbies, so I think I will begin 'sewing my own nets' and praying for you, as well. May God be with you.

Randy,
I'm a 14 year old girl. I don't believe in god keeping you here, what I do believe in is you're strong will to live and love. The fact that you are able to do what you love do do, with the conditions you are living in is incredible.
-with much love,
The girl that believes in you're health to enjoy what ever time you have. I know its not fair that you are the one who has to suffer, but you are strong, keep enjoying what you have and love your wife and kids to the fullest, because in the end that's what matters most.

You religious freaks are SO ANNOYING! Stop selfishly pushing YOUR agenda down the throats of others.

No one even wants to skim over your crap! Why don't you instead go spend some more time reading your bible and SHUT UP SO OTHERS DON'T HAVE TO READ IT.

You should be ashamed of your selfish acts and judgements on others! Freedom of speech and thought! You may THINK your opinion and thoughts are better than those of others - but that is WHERE YOU ARE SELFISH AND NARCISSISTIC! Isn't that a sin??

Randy Pausch was a Teacher and a really good human being. His outlook on life did not turn on religion or the lack of religion. It was about being alive and living life to the fullest and teaching others to do the same. What a wonderful legacy he left his family. His famed Last Lecture was an inspiring gift to us, even though it was for his children.
Randy Pausch is gone. Long live Randy Pausch!

Go back and re-read Randy's book. He would have disagreed with your hostile attitude toward the previous writer's sincerely held beliefs. anon.
