Fashion designer Bill Belew, who created the iconic jumpsuits by Elvis Presley, died Jan. 7 in Palm Springs, Calif. He was 77.
Presley wore the extravagant designs, which became forever linked with his image, from 1968 until his death in 1977. [Belew] also created costumes for stage, screen and television stars spanning several generations including Josephine Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, Brooke Shields and Gloria Estefan. We at BDPE believe that Belew's creations and contributions to Elvis society are still alive. Call us conspiracy theorists, but we think the proof is right here.
