Patriarch Pavle Awakens to Confetti and Streamers

Patriarch Pavle is now stable, after battling an unknown illness for much of the past few months.

The 93-year-old head of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) now exhibits all vital parameters within the referent values, the VMA clinic announced Monday.

The Serbian patriarch is lucid, communicative and actively cooperates in the implementation of treatment procedures and the rehabilitation program, the doctors say. Patriarch Pavle has been undergoing treatment at the VMA since November last year when his health took a turn for the worse.
This is wonderful news for Patriarch Pavle who can celebrate the Serbian Orthodox New Year - according to the Julian Calendar - today with his fellow worshippers.
