I understand that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was a very important figure. However, I can't say that gives other blogs a right to steal our idea of birthday posts (well they don't have the clever titles and snarky comments, but they stole the idea).
Now for those of you who may want to celebrate someone whose birthday it actually is today, we present today's birthday post...
- The longest floating bridge in the world, which was opened in 1963 and carries Washington State Route 520 over Lake Washington from Seattle to Medina was renamed in honor of Rosellini through an act of the Washington State Legislature in 1988. The bridge's official name is now the Governor Albert D. Rosellini Bridge–Evergreen Point, though it is still commonly known as the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge.
He doesn't even get a day, he gets a stupid bridge. The least the state of Washington can do is actually refer to the bridge named after him by its proper name. I'm sorry, Mr. Rosellini. At least you got to live to see another year
... And Many More!
